Today is our 8 year 4 month anniversary, which means that Mark and I have now been married for one hundred months. Look how young we were back then! We've been through a lot together in the past 100 months and this seems like a good time to reflect on some of those things. Here are a few of the things that have happened since we got married -
- I got my first "real job" and will soon be celebrating my eight year anniversary with the same company. Mark recently hit the nine year mark at his place of employment.
- We've moved 3 times. We lived with Mark's parents for the first few months that we were married as I looked for a job. Then we moved in our first one bedroom apartment, then into the duplex, and finally into our house, which is now home. We've experienced many of the joys and woes of home ownership over the past few years, and we are SO HAPPY to not be dealing with landlords anymore. We love having a house of our own. :)
- We've owned 5 vehicles - a Kia Sephia, a Plymouth Acclaim, a Ford F150, and our current cars - a 2000 Ford Taurus and a 2007 Kia Optima.
- We've witnessed the marriages of 6 siblings (four of Mark's and two of mine) and welcomed 9 new nieces and nephews into our family. We've also had to say goodbye to three wonderful grandparents.
- We've become the proud owners of two lovely kitties and a few dozen fish.
- We struggled through several years of invasive and sometimes painful infertility treatments and finally accepted the fact that we will probably never be able to have children on our own. We made the choice to adopt, and have since been waiting (sometimes patiently) to receive a phone call saying that we've been chosen by a birthmother to adopt her child.
We've been through a lot of changes over the years, and I'm sure the future will bring many more joys and stuggles to our lives. We're looking forward to them. I'm excited to find out what changes the next hundred months will bring to our lives.

thanks so much for your comment on fertility stumpers. I can't imaging what you must be going through waiting for your child to be sent to you. I hope it happens for you soon, and hang in there.
